Bucksgiving: Getting Grateful on May 6

Hundreds of people across Bucks County are familiar with the annual Pep Rally – our awards ceremony, annual breakfast, and call to action for the year ahead.

Needless to say, there were some questions when this year’s invitation arrived. What is Bucksgiving? What happened to the Pep Rally? Why is this deer laughing at me?

The first two questions are easy to answer. This year’s breakfast will have all of the ‘pep’ and energy of previous years, but we feel it is important to truly express our gratitude for what is happening now.

We want to give thanks – formally and publicly – to all of the wonderful people and organizations investing in change here in Bucks County. We want to say thanks to the donors, advocates, volunteers, community partners, friends, tweeters, posters, and change-makers who help make our community stronger.

That’s why we are celebrating Bucksgiving, which we define as n. 1. The act of giving thanks in Bucks County. 2. A formal, often public expression of thanks to the community. 3. A Bucks County celebration observed on the first Friday in May.

You can learn more and get your tickets here. We are also looking for a few more sponsors before next Wednesday, March 23. Sponsorships start at just $100 and will give you ad space in our annual magazine (viewed by thousands of movers and shakers county wide).
