RESPONDING TO THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI
For those wanting to offer support in the wake of the earthquake in Haiti, United Way of Bucks County suggests one or both of the following options:
Immediate First Response (American Red Cross):
The American Red Cross is sending money, supplies and staff to Haiti to support relief efforts there after the earthquake on January 12th, which caused catastrophic damage and loss of life.
Long Term Recovery and Community Building (United Way Worldwide):
Long after the initial responders go home, gifts to the UWW Fund will support long-term recovery efforts to rebuild lives and infrastructure devastated by disaster and to address educational, financial and health-related challenges. United Way Worldwide members in the Caribbean region have mobilized their staff, volunteer leaders and resources in response.
However you choose to help the communities devastated by this disaster, you can add that to the list of ways that you LIVE UNITED. We're all in this together, and when you reach out a hand to one, you influence the condition of all... that's what it means to LIVE UNITED!
