Our Mission

The Bucks County Women’s Initiative of the United Way of Bucks County helps girls become strong women through mind, body, and spirit. Managed by women, we build gender equity, create social change, and promote a culture of philanthropy among women and girls.

Our History

The Bucks County Women’s Initiative was unveiled on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Annual Breakfast of United Way of Bucks County. The Bucks County Women’s Initiative is a partnership between the Bucks County Women’s Fund and the United Way of Bucks County. This initiative focuses on raising funds and resources to promote the empowerment of women and girls in Bucks County. To learn more about previously funded programs click here.

Signature Program

#girlSTEM Conference with partner agency Bucks County Intermediate Unit

#girlSTEM, hosted by BCIU, on the beautiful campus of Delaware Valley College, draws more than 800 Bucks County girls representing schools and districts county-wide for a day long Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math conference and a working lunch with women mentors.
