Food Distribution for Students

Area schools districts are offering meals to students in non-congregate settings during the two-week closure due to COVID-19.

For many low-income students across the county, meals from schools are an important part of their diet.

Below is the information each school district has posted on their websites.  For more information, contact the school district directly. (Click the SD name to be linked directly to their website)

Bensalem School District

Children can enjoy delicious free breakfasts and lunches provided by the Bensalem Township School District Food Service Department. The district will utilize its Summer Food Service Program eligibility through a waiver from the State to serve children 18 years and younger during this closure. A bagged grab and go breakfast and lunch will be available at the below locations from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm beginning on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 (Monday through Friday) through March 27th. Children must be present to receive meals.

Absolutely no application is necessary! Meals are completely free and anyone is welcome to come to the designated locations. No one will be permitted to enter the buildings. Meals will need to be picked up and taken home. Vegetarian options will be available. Our goal is to make sure all children have access to healthy food during the closure, and come back ready and nourished to learn.

Additionally the FEED THE KIDS PROGRAM sponsored by Rotary Club and Trifecta as well as many local donors realized that some of the school locations may not be convenient for those without transportation. They will also have several locations around the community!

Bristol Borough School District:

Children will be able to access breakfast and lunch courtesy of the Bristol Borough School District starting on Tuesday, March 17th. Meals will be available at both the high school and elementary buildings between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Absolutely no application is necessary. Meals are completely free. No one will be permitted to enter the buildings. Meals will need to be picked up and taken home.

Members of the Bristol Borough community are also stepping up by offering take-home breakfasts for students who may need it Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.  at the Elks Lodge 970 at 95 Wood Street while school is out.

Bristol Township School District

Bristol Township, Our children can enjoy delicious free breakfasts and lunches provided by the Bristol Township School District Food Service Department. The district will utilize the Emergency Meal Plan Program eligibility through a waiver from the state to serve children 18 years and younger during this closure. A bagged grab and go breakfast and lunch will be available at the below locations from 11am-1pm starting March 17, 2020. Children must be present to receive meals. 

Absolutely no application is necessary! Meals are completely free and anyone is welcome to come to the designated locations. No one will be permitted to enter the buildings. Meals will need to be picked up and taken home. Vegetarian options will be available. Centennial School District

Beginning on Wednesday, March 18, our Food Service Department will be serving lunch and breakfast for the next day at various locations in the community.  This service will be provided Monday – Friday.  The schedule will be as follows:

Maple Street Park – 11:20-11:50 a.m.
Szymanek Park – 12:00-12:30 p.m.
Crooked Billet – 12:40-1:10 p.m. 
They will continue to serve breakfast from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and lunch from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at McDonald Elementary School from a mobile truck located at the front of the building.  
All meals will be free to kids 18 and under.

Central Bucks School District

During the district-wide closure associated with COVID-19, the Central Bucks School District will put the following procedures into place in order to provide lunch to those students enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program on regular school days (Monday through Friday). BEGINNING MONDAY MARCH 16 – Lunch will be available for pickup between 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at CB East High School, CB South High School, CB West High School, Tohickon Middle School, and Barclay Elementary School. Students are required to pick up meals at the following locations based on their home school: CB East Schools: CB East, Holicong, Bridge Valley, Buckingham, Cold Spring, Warwick Pickup Location: CB East Main Entrance CB South Schools: CB South, Tamanend, Unami, Butler, Jamison, Mill Creek, Titus Pickup Location: CB South Gymnasium Entrance CB West Schools: CB West, Lenape, Doyle, Kutz, Linden, Pine Run Pickup Location: CB West Visitor Entrance (Main Parking Lot) Tohickon Schools: Tohickon, Gayman, Groveland Pickup Location: Tohickon Auditorium/Lobby Entrance Barclay Schools: Barclay Pickup Location: Barclay Front Entrance The following procedures are important: • The student(s) enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program must be present at pickup. • If a family has students included in two different groupings above, they will be allowed to pick up at either location. • Alternative meal options will be available for those students with allergies, as necessary

Council Rock School District

Beginning on Tuesday we will provide breakfast and lunch to all students who qualify for free or reduced school meals. Detailed information has been sent directly to these families.

Morrisville School District

Neshaminy School District: 

Thanks to changes in the USDA Food Service Program, Neshaminy School District is pleased to offer our free “grab-and-go” breakfast & lunch service to all children age 18 and under regardless of where they live, whether or not they attend Neshaminy schools, or whether or not they qualify for subsidized meals. This new policy will begin with pick-up on Friday, April 3.

Meals are all pre-packaged and must be consumed off-site. Social distancing procedures will be in place to limit exposure of our Food Services staff and those receiving the meals. Those arriving in vehicles will be asked to remotely open their trunk or lift gate and the meals will be placed inside. Walk-ups can pick up meals from tables set up outside each site. Only Food Services staff will be permitted inside school buildings.

Wednesday: Breakfast & lunch for Wednesday & Thursday

New Hope-Solebury School District

Palisades School District

Effective Monday, March 16th Palisades School District will be providing free “pick up and go” bagged meals for all students from 11:00AM to 12:30PM – Monday through Friday – at: Tinicum Elementary School 162 E. Dark Hollow Road Pipersville, PA As our family routines are being adjusted during this stay-at-home health alert, we wish to support you and provide a free meal each weekday for our students. Our staff will prepare pre-wrapped, complete meals for you. All students in grades K-12 will receive a variety choice meal consisting of a sandwich, cheese stick, lunchables, turkey stick, fruit cup, piece of fresh fruit, juice cup or milk. Meals will be served in a bag, directly to your car. This is a drive-thru service system. (Each student will need to be present in the car to receive the meal. Thank you for your cooperation!)

Pennridge School District

The Pennridge School District will put the following procedures into place to provide breakfast and lunch
to ALL Pennridge students enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program on regular school days
during the district-wide closure associated with COVID-19.
BEGINNING TUESDAY MARCH 17 – Breakfast and Lunch meals will be available for pickup
between 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Pennridge High School. Students can pick up meals at the
following locations based on their last name:
Students with last name beginning with A-L: Pick up meals at Pennridge High School Main Entrance.
Please enter at the light on 5th Street.
Students with last name beginning with M-Z: Pick up meals at Pennridge High School Cafeteria Loading
Dock area. Please enter from Blooming Glen (at the Rock).
The following procedures are important:
• The student(s) enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program MUST be present at pickup.
• If a family has students included in two different groupings above, they will be allowed to pick up
at either location.
• Alternative meal options will be available for those students with allergies, as necessary.
• Staff will be at these entrances to direct families to pick up locations
• Please reach out to your child’s principal if you have any additional questions or needs.

Pennsbury School District: 

Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, Pennsbury students may enjoy free, nutritious brunch meals provided by The Nutrition Group, the District’s food service provider. The District is able to distribute this food to serve children 18 years and younger during the time period that schools remain closed.

Pre-bagged, Grab-and-Go brunch meals will be available at the Pennsbury High School East bus dock, located at 705 Hood Boulevard in Fairless Hills, each weekday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No application is required, but children must be present to receive meals. A student name and current school must be provided.

Meals are completely free and will be distributed in a drive-through fashion. No one will be permitted to enter the building. Cars will be directed to form a line, and we ask for patience with this process as we work together to serve the needs of our children. Meals must be picked up and taken home. Our goal is to make sure all children have access to healthy food during the closure and return nourished and ready to learn.

Quakertown School District

During the closure of Quakertown Community School District schools, students on free and reduced lunch will be able to pick up food at no cost on Monday through Friday from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at Quakertown Community High School, 600 Park Ave.

Students will need to enter their I.D. number and be able to name the school they attend. They will be allowed to enter the front door, where they will be greeted by members of Chartwells Food Service. No one, however, will be allowed through the second set of doors and into the building.

Students, or parents of younger students, will be able to get breakfast for the next morning and lunch for that day. Both meals will be cold service, consisting of cereal, sandwiches, muffins, fruit, milk and juice.
