Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering with UW Bucks is a meaningful way to give back and make a real difference in Bucks County. There are many ways to get involved to match your interests, skills, and schedule.

Hands-On General Support

Whether it’s a one-time project or a recurring role, you can help the HELP Center and the community in practical ways:

  • Sorting, stocking, and distributing essential goods
  • Assisting at community events
  • Packing items for families
  • Seasonal or project-based service

Skills-Based Contributions

If you’d like to share your professional expertise, you can make an impact behind the scenes:

  • Marketing, communications, or social media support
  • Event planning and sponsorship outreach
  • Financial, administrative, or IT assistance
  • Strategic planning or committee service

Volunteering as a group is a great way to come together, build teamwork, and make a real impact in Bucks County. Groups, community organizations, businesses, and corporate teams all play an important role at the HELP Center by helping us provide essential goods to families in need.

Once your group completes the sign-up form, a UW Bucks staff member will follow up to answer questions, confirm details, and share next steps to plan your volunteer day.

How do I sign up?
Complete the Volunteer Interest Form. Our team will follow up with next steps based on your interests and availability.

Is a background check required?
Some volunteer roles require a background check to ensure the safety of our clients, volunteers, and staff.

Background checks are typically required for recurring volunteers and for any role involving interaction with children. One-time volunteers may not require clearances, depending on the activity.

Why are background checks required?
As a community-based organization serving families and individuals across Bucks County, we are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment. Background checks help protect the people we serve and ensure compliance with Pennsylvania law for certain roles.

Can I volunteer as part of a group?

What should I expect when volunteering at the HELP Center?
Volunteer tasks may include sorting donations, organizing shelves, packing essential items, or assisting during distributions. Staff will provide instructions and support during your shift.
