Investing in early education is one of the best ways to close the opportunity gap for low-income children

The years before kindergarten are incredibly crucial; 90% of a child’s brain development happens in the first 5 years of life. In Bucks County, 68% of eligible children do not have access to publicly funded Pre-K. This creates a preparation gap that can have enormous impacts on long-term learning.

INCREASING ACCESS TO QUALITY EARLY EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

UW Bucks works with community partners to offer the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program to families in need in Bucks County. Through Pre-K Counts, we provide quality Pre-K education to 3 and 4-year old children at no cost to eligible families, giving our youngest neighbors a strong start in school and in life.
