Make a Difference in Bucks County: Volunteer Month, Week, and Day

People volunteering

April is National Volunteer Month, a dedicated time to celebrate the wonderful individuals who choose to serve their communities through volunteerism. Within this important month, April 20th stands out as Volunteer Day – a day that helps in underscoring the importance of volunteering and expressing gratitude towards dedicated volunteers. And April 21-27 is National Volunteer Week, a time to recognize the power of the volunteers who tackle society’s greatest challenges and make a difference in their communities.

Volunteer Month, Week, and Day also invite us to put our skills into action for the betterment of Bucks County. Whether it is by giving an hour, a day, or regular volunteering, every time we help, we are actively choosing to make a difference in the community in which we live.

United Way of Bucks County is on the frontline in offering such opportunities. We understand the power volunteers hold to change the world around us for the better. As we celebrate April as Volunteer Month, we champion those individuals who selflessly donate their time, skills, and energy to serve their Bucks County neighbors.

When April 20th unfolds as Volunteer Day, it will symbolize the heart of this month-long celebration. This day is dedicated to honoring the spirit of volunteerism—those who embody the philosophy of ‘Service Above Self.’ It serves as a reminder of how every individual can create a significant, positive impact within their community through their chosen actions.

United Way of Bucks County encourages you to mark these special occasions by lending a hand and getting involved in our many volunteering opportunities—all aimed at creating lasting, community-focused change. General opportunities include distribution of products and food, stocking the HELP Center, and helping at special events. Skills based opportunities include committee work for people who bring skills in a specialized field.

The month of April carries a spirit of rejuvenation and budding growth. Let us harness this energy into sprouting seeds of compassion and kindness throughout our community. Choose to make your mark. Choose to make a difference. Choose to volunteer with United Way of Bucks County. Every helping hand creates a wave of positive change.
