What does your organization do and what is your mission?
Founded in 1894, The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey is a nonprofit organization serving at-risk children and families throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our services are continuously evaluated and adapted to meet the ever-changing needs of our diverse clientele. What began as an orphanage over 120 years ago has grown into a comprehensive child and family service agency, now touching the lives of more than 79,000 infants, children, youth, and families each year.
Our staff of over 300 professionals is committed to protecting abused and neglected babies and children, and helping them overcome traumas they may have experienced. At CHSofNJ, we believe that every child deserves a safe, loving, permanent home, and our staff works tirelessly to ensure our vision is a reality.

Our CHSofNJ mission, written in 1894, states that we find loving families for children to grow up in, to protect children from hard, and to help parents find better ways to parent so they can keep and safely raise their children. These three facets of our mission remain at our core today. Our mission is- Saving Children’s Lives and Building Healthy Families
