Thank You to ALL of Our Sponsors

By Sophie McKnight / Intern at United Way of Bucks County

It’s been a busy summer full of fun initiatives that have helped so many people in the community. But it’s not over yet! Next week, UW Bucks kicks off the 2018 Stuff the Bus campaign!

But before we do that, we want to thank all of our sponsors who have supported us through some of our fun initiatives so far this summer!

This week, I worked on creating “thank you” videos, similar to the one I first made for SUEZ’s packing day.

However, while SUEZ does get another “thank you” video from us, there are videos going out to all of our sponsors from Bucks Knocks Out Hunger and our girlSTEM conference from back in May!

GirlSTEM was an event that was truly inspiring to all that attended. Because of our girlSTEM sponsors, 800 girls from 13 school districts in Bucks County were able to learn and experience the importance of STEM careers.

These girls participated in a chemistry magic show, built a water filter to clean up coastal spills and learned how to market themselves in the STEM world. This, and so much more, is worth a BIG thank you to those who sponsored the event.

At BKO, every sponsor got their own special packing table so volunteers from that company or organization could pack meals together. In fact, many of our corporate partners participate in BKO as a team building exercise.

The packing room was filled with teams showing off their brightly colored company shirts. And thanks to the hard-working, competitive nature of every team, they all helped to successfully pack 125,000 meals.

BKO is an event that truly would not have been as successful if it weren’t for the support and volunteers of our sponsors. It is a great way for any company to come together and participate in a team building exercise that will impact so many people.

In these videos, I wanted to make sure I captured the importance of the event and how it would make a difference in the community. That way, these sponsors can hold their heads up high, knowing that they supported an event that changed to many lives.

I had a lot of fun making these videos because I was able to go back through all of the pictures and video I took during these events, and was reminded of all the good people were doing while volunteering.

Thank you again to all of our sponsors who helped these two great events!
