The Fight Against Food Insecurity: Bucks Knocks Out Hunger

For many of us enjoying the comfort of never having to worry about our next meal, the harsh reality of hunger might seem remote and even abstract. For countless local families, it is a daily battle. Bucks County has many food banks, but donations are still crucial. You can help by joining the fight. By supporting Bucks Knocks Out Hunger, you can be a part of the solution – helping struggling families to keep food on their tables.

Hunger isn’t just about missed meals, it’s about missed nutrients! And this is why BKO Hunger offers more than just calories – we provide nutrient-rich foods, ensuring not only a filled stomach for today but fortified health for tomorrow.

The United Way of Bucks County launched Bucks Knocks Out Hunger (BKO Hunger) as a community-driven hunger-fighting initiative. It’s an opportunity for donors, advocates, and volunteers to unite for one basic cause: ending hunger in Bucks County. It’s not just a fundraising campaign for food pantries, but a platform to speak out for the hungry and food insecure, and a volunteer opportunity to pack meals for those who need them.

How Your Dollars Make an Impact

All proceeds from BKO Hunger benefit people who are hungry or food insecure in Bucks County. Donations to the project will continue to fight hunger throughout the upcoming year.

  • Your gift of $200 will provide 86 nutritious meals to local families who are food insecure.
  • Your gift of $50 will provide 21 nutritious meals to local families who are food insecure.
  • Your gift of $25 will provide 10 nutritious meals to local families who are food insecure.

Your gift to BKO supports our hunger-fighting programs county-wide. It also helps us ensure that every neighbor has equitable access to the food they need – whether that means creating new distribution sites or delivering meals right to someone’s door.

  • Fresh Connect: our free, mobile farmers market brings nutritious options to four locations in Bucks County each week.
  • Local Food Pantries: BKO funds supplement our network of food pantries – both mobile and brick-and-mortar (including our HELP Center) – with healthy items not often donated, like eggs and milk.
  • Senior Produce Box Program: fresh produce delivered directly to seniors’ doors, or a senior center they visit regularly.
