Looking to make a difference here in Bucks County? Visit www.volunteerbucks.org.
Give Bucks County a few hours or a few days this year. We guarantee that lives will change – and it won’t just be the people you help. There is nothing more empowering than knowing that you did the right thing; than proving that one person can make an impact; than standing up and saying ‘I can make a difference.’
Volunteer Bucks is a catalog of nonprofits and their current volunteer opportunities and events. You can browse all the needs, decide what interests you, and sign up online! This site powered by Bucks County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (Bucks VOAD), in partnership with UW Bucks and the County of Bucks. Anyone interested in helping in the case of an emergency can sign up here.
At United Way of Bucks County, we rely on an army of volunteers who donate their time and talents in a number of ways. They participate in traditional volunteer work – serving as mentors and tutors; fixing up non-profit centers; and much more. We also have volunteers who lend a hand in non-traditional ways.
We can always use help in these areas:
- Marketing: If you have a talent for social media, video production, photography, or blogging, we could really use your help! Contact Marissa Christie at (267) 795 7833 or marissac@uwbucks to discuss possibilities.
- Community Investment Committees (CIC): Interesting fact about UW Bucks: Volunteer panels determine which programs will be funded in Bucks County and at what levels. This is truly fascinating work. After reviewing a Needs Assessment, you determine which programs in your committee area (education, income or health) best meet the needs of Bucks County residents. The following year, you are included in site visits to funded programs to ensure that objectives are being considered and outcomes are successful. To discuss CIC volunteer opportunities, contact John Ramirez at (215) 949 1660 ext 117 or email@example.com.
- Days of Caring: Rally support and get others involved! If your business, club, or organization is looking for a great bonding activity, try a UW Bucks Day of Caring. A Day of Caring is a special project tailored to the talents, areas of interest, and even the geography of your group. The shared experience of a great volunteer project unites people – and it really does feel good to do good! To plan your Day of Caring, contact Danielle Bush at (215) 949 1660 ext 112.
We know that volunteers make achieving our community goals possible. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of our neighbors, and creating lasting impact in our community.
