Volunteering with United Way of Bucks County Changes Lives

Give us a few hours or a few days this year.  We guarantee that lives will change – and it won’t just be the people you help.  There is nothing more empowering than knowing that you did the right thing; than proving that one person can make a difference; than standing up and saying ‘I am the change’.

At United Way of Bucks County, we rely on an army of volunteers who donate their time and talents in a number of ways.  They participate in traditional volunteer work – serving as mentors and tutors; fixing up non-profit centers; and much more.  We also have volunteers who lend a hand in non-traditional ways.

We can always use help in these areas:

  • Marketing:  If you have a talent for social media, video production, photography, or blogging, we could really use your help!  Contact Marissa Christie at (267) 795 7833 or marissac@uwbucks to discuss possibilities.
  • Community Investment Committees (CIC):  Interesting fact about UW Bucks:  Volunteer panels determine which programs will be funded in Bucks County and at what levels.  This is truly fascinating work.  After reviewing a Needs Assessment, you determine which programs in your committee area (education, income or health) best meet the needs of Bucks County residents.  The following year, you are included in site visits to funded programs to ensure that objectives are being considered and outcomes are successful.  To discuss CIC volunteer opportunities, contact Patty Smallacombe at (215) 949 1660 ext 115 or pattys@uwbucks.org.
  • Matched Interest:  We promise – whatever your talent or area of interest, we will find the right volunteer opportunity for you at UW Buck or one of our many member agencies.  To get matched, fill out our volunteer form online or use the print friendly volunteer application and return it to Danielle Bush at danielleb@uwbucks.org or fax (215) 949-0373.
  • Day of Caring:  Rally support and get others involved!  If your business, club or organization is looking for a great bonding activity, try a UW Bucks Day of Caring.  A Day of Caring is a special project tailored to the talents, areas of interest, and even the geography of your group.  The shared experience of a great volunteer project unites people – and it really does feel good to do good!  To plan your Day of Caring, contact Danielle Bush at (215) 949 1660 ext 112.

We know that volunteers make achieving our community goals possible. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of our neighbors, and creating lasting impact in our community.
