2013 Needs Assessment
About the 2013 Needs Assessment
We conduct this survey every two years to align our priorities with the needs of Bucks County.
The survey is designed and conducted by Dr. Patricia Smallacombe, United Way of Bucks County’s Senior Vice President of Community Impact. This survey, along with other qualitative and quantitative data, helps us develop a full picture of conditions in the county and of the community’s needs.
We use this information to provide funding where it is most needed. Through greater understanding, we are able to target structural problems; to press those levers that create social change. This allows us to make the largest impact possible with our resources.
This community involvement is unique to the United Way. Most nonprofits determine their fiscal plan without opening their process up to all stakeholders. We choose to include many opinions because we believe an open dialog leads to programs that unite our community.
We focus our efforts on the building blocks of a good life: education, income, and health, and we always work towards sustainable change.
In Bucks County, this currently means helping children and youth succeed, promoting economic self sufficiency, and supporting families. However, these objectives may shift if the Needs Assessment survey and additional data shows other needs emerging.
The survey covers information such as your location in the county, information about your household, and the issues that concern you most in Bucks County . It takes less than 10 minutes to complete and all questions are optional
